Get to know us
Mission Bases began long before it had a name—with a simple “yes” to the call of God. What started as a heart to teach, serve, and walk with leaders around the world has grown into a network of training, discipleship, and support that spans continents.
The vision was first received by Lanny and Tony Hamby, whose obedience opened doors for ministry in Mexico, Spain, and a beautiful Caribbean nation. In 2012, the first International School of Ministry was launched in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in collaboration with Dr. Pablo J. Manzewitsch and Ana Manzewitsch. Together, these leaders helped lay the relational and spiritual foundations for what Mission Bases is today.
We’ve walked with pastors, missionaries, and leaders from more than 25 countries, always with the same goal: to equip the Church through meaningful connection, biblical teaching, and shared purpose. The story continues—not by ambition, but by faithful people saying “yes.”

What We Do
Mission Bases exists to strengthen leaders through biblical formation, practical training, and spiritual encouragement. We serve churches, networks, and individuals by offering:
Schools of Ministry – Short-term intensives focused on equipping pastors, missionaries, and lay leaders.
Annual and Regional Conferences – Gatherings that provide space for worship, teaching, renewal, and connection.
The Lord’s Prayer Workshop – A 9-week discipleship journey designed especially for new believers, based on the prayer Jesus taught. Created by board members Rodolfo and Roxana Martínez, this powerful and accessible tool has helped over 11,000 new Christians begin their faith journey in Latin America—and is now being released in English and Polish to reach even more nations.
Mentorship and Discipleship – Long-term relationships that build maturity, accountability, and vision.
Relief and Mission Support – Strategic generosity to support missionaries and communities affected by crisis or need.
Mission Bases operates in various nations and contexts, always in collaboration with local leaders who know their people and carry the heart of the mission.
Why We Do It
At the heart of Mission Bases is a deep conviction: when leaders are rooted in truth, supported in community, and formed in the character of Christ, the Church thrives—and the world is impacted.
We believe leadership is not about titles or positions, but about maturity, faithfulness, and service. That’s why we invest in those who are already serving—pastors, missionaries, emerging leaders—so they can continue the work entrusted to them with clarity, wisdom, and strength.
Our purpose is simple: to walk alongside the people God is raising up, helping them grow into the fullness of their calling. We long to see communities transformed not by programs, but by lives shaped by Christ—leaders who teach, serve, love, and build up others.
Mission Bases exists not to expand an organization, but to be part of what God is doing in the world: forming people who reflect Jesus and lead others to Him.
A Brief History of Mission Bases
Mission Bases was born from a series of quiet steps of obedience, long before it had a name or structure. In the early 2000s, Lanny and Tony Hamby began traveling to places like Mexico, Spain, and a beautiful Caribbean nation with a heart to teach, encourage, and strengthen the Church.
In 2012, the first International School of Ministry was launched in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in collaboration with Dr. Pablo and Ana Manzewitsch. These schools—designed as two-week intensives—were created to equip pastors, leaders, and missionaries already serving in their communities. The relational and biblical approach quickly made an impact, and over time, the work began to multiply across Latin America and beyond.
As the mission grew, God brought faithful men and women to walk alongside Mission Bases. Some served in the early years, others joined along the way—and many continue serving today. Among them were the late Michael O’Shields and Sherry White, whose voices helped mark the early journey. Others include Fred White, Bruce Thompson, Doug and Rita Roberts, Roger and Rhonda Euceda, Rodolfo and Roxana Martinez, René Brown, Dr. Ricky Paris, Charly and MaryJo Atkerson as well as Franklin and Katie Bess—whose legacy in Asia continues through long-term partnerships.
Throughout the years, Mission Bases has been blessed by friends and collaborators such as Mitch Clay, Dr. Francisco and Lidia Castro, Cliff Canipe, Misael and Vianey Mondragón, Yoel Rodríguez, Javier Álvarez, Marcos Socorro, Dr. Hugo Nogueira, Dagoberto Martell, Antonio Selles, Dr. Geny Castilla, and Eduardo Ortiz, and many more. Samuel and Peter Chacko, who serve in India, Nepal, and surrounding nations under the leadership legacy of Franklin and Katy Bess, have also become instrumental partners in extending the mission into Asia through resource development and leadership training.
One of the many fruitful contributions within Mission Bases has been The Lord’s Prayer Workshop, developed by Rodolfo and Roxana Martínez, who pastor in Xalapa, Veracruz. Created to meet the discipleship needs of new believers, the workshop has become a versatile tool used across Latin America, and is now being introduced in English and Polish. Over the years, it has served as a foundational step for thousands of believers starting their journey of faith—and continues to be used in churches, small groups, and evangelistic efforts throughout the Spanish-speaking world and beyond.
These friends represent not only individual ministries but also church networks, movements, and regions. Many have taught, mentored, or advised in different seasons—some visibly, others quietly. This list is not complete, and it never will be. The work has always depended on the faithfulness of many, not the spotlight of a few.
Mission Bases also grew through gatherings—first in San Miguel de Allende, then later through the Mission Bases Annual Conference, which began in Granbury and now takes place in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Regional conferences have been held in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, and a beautiful Caribbean nation. These spaces allow leaders to reconnect, refocus, and be strengthened for the road ahead.
In recent years, the mission has expanded globally through trusted leadership in strategic regions. Andrés and Julieta Manzewitsch oversee the work in Europe from their base in Spain. In South America, Luis and Nancy Toledo serve from Argentina. In the Middle East, Ted and Tina Vanlandeghem help build relationships and new expressions from Israel. These aren’t just new locations—they’re local expressions of the same heart, shaped by relationship and shared values.
Though our primary focus remains leadership formation, Mission Bases has also responded to moments of crisis—offering relief in places affected by war and disaster, including Poland, Ukraine, Haiti, Mexico, a beautiful Caribbean nation, and beyond. Generosity has always been part of the story—supporting missionaries, communities, and local churches in critical seasons.
From a small group of faithful servants to a growing international family, Mission Bases continues to move forward—not driven by strategy, but by obedience. The work is grounded in Christ, shaped by His Word, and carried by those willing to say “yes.” The story is still being written, and we believe the best is yet to come.
